In Part Two of our brilliantly page-turning round-up, some of Britain’s biggest authors and stars share their favourite reads of 2020 with Mat Nixson.
When Matt Nixson from the Daily Express asked Peter for his two favourite books of 2020, he chose My Name is Why and The Magic Hour. Here’s why.
“Lemn Sissay tells his extraordinary life story in My Name is Why. It made me cry, cry-out with outrage and cheer triumphantly. It is the most beautiful, inspirational and heart-breaking story, where love is the phoenix that is born again from the ashes of neglect. This book will give you hope.”
“I love the rhythm of words, especially those that make me want to dance. It was poetry that drew me in to reading and writing and I loved reading The Magic Hour by Charlotte Moore. Charlotte has brought together a wonderful collection of classic poetry. This book of rhythm made me move.”
