I love taking part in events, conferences and performances. Here’s a list of some of my recent and forthcoming events.
It is no exaggeration to say that studying A-level Psychology changed my life. It led to a career as a psychologist and it’s where I met my wife. This is one of the reasons why I love to speak at A-level Psychology study days.

Psychology LIVE! is the best possible way to spend time outside the classroom whilst bringing Psychology studies to life. This immersive event gives students the opportunity to meet experts face to face and provide them with all the inspiration they need for their exams including memorable examples and case studies.
Speakers will present the most current issues with presentations linked to key topics covered in the AQA, OCR and Edexcel A Level curriculum. Through their real-life experiences our speakers will help the students understand how psychology is applied in the real world such as the contribution of psychology to individual, social and cultural diversity, and ultimately to a successful society. There will be the opportunity to ask questions of the industry practitioners and learn about careers associated with the subject during the interactive question and answer sessions.
While enjoying and being immersed in the Disneyland® Parks, the Park Challenges encourage students to take a step back and look at the resort from a scientific perspective. Students are given simple experiments to complete which allow them to develop arguments and draw conclusions about how psychological principles/theories are applied across the resort in order to stimulate specific behaviours and responses.
I have been working with people with Parkinson’s since 2008, carrying out research in to the relationship between movement, dance and the symptoms of Parkinson’s. It is always a great honour to be invited to speak to local members of Parkinson’s UK at branch meetings.

I was so excited to speak at Tanzwerkstatt Europe. The event was held at a place called Fluffy Clouds – which sounds like such a dreamy venue. It’s an old swimming pool so was wondering whether the dance I do should be inspired by water. Meeting the Joint Adventures production team was really exciting.
I had the oppportunity to see some inspirational movement performances, including Burrows & Fargion “Rewriting & Science Fiction” Roza Moshtaghi “Bouncing Narratives” and the extraordinary Alexander Vantournhout “Through the Grapevine”

Together with the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich, every year since 1991 JOINT ADVENTURES has organized TANZWERKSTATT EUROPA – a workshop for new ideas and aesthetics in contemporary dance and performance and hot spot for choreographers, teachers and professionals – for all people who take great delight in dancing. The audience comes from Munich, Bavaria and the whole world.
What a beautiful venue for a relaxing and thought provoking festival. The line-up was so inspiring: Russell Foster, David Tong, Peter Olugosa, Anil Seth, Pragya Agarwal, Claudia Hammond, Cath Loveday, Alan Rusbridger, Julia Shaw and Mark Maslin. The audience were awesome too – thanks for the warm welcome and for buying every copy of The Dance Cure – you read the bookshop dry.

The Intermountain Healthcare Annual Providers Conference was a very special event. I had initially been contacted about speaking at the event in 2019, and it was due to go ahead in March 2020. Inevitably, it was his first event to be postponed due to covid. Intermountain Healthcare were absolutely wonderful – they pushed the event back time and time again until it finally went ahead in June 2022.It was a glorious celebration of the medical/nursing staff who had worked so hard during the pandemic.

I couldn’t imagine a better client to work with and a better venue to attend after two years of lockdowns and travel restrictions. The last two years have been hard and cancer made it even more challenging. I introduced some of the lessons I’d learnt from receiving a life-defining diagnosis in my talk for the first time. Cancer changed me – and it changed the way I think about relationships, problem-solving, emotions and my phyical body. It was wonderful when members of the audience joined me on stage for my unexpected encore.

One reason the Crown Council exists is to create a “mastermind” of like-minded dental professionals who share great ideas. Over the years, community membership becomes one of your most valuable assets—not only for practice growth and career satisfaction, but also for your personal wellbeing.
The Annual Event provides an opportunity for community members to learn something while they are there, to feel something while they are there, but most importantly to leave the event motivated to do something different. Crown Council practices report that the impact of the annual event on greater team unity and performance lasts all year long.
